Monodraught are delighted to confirm that our colleague Jackie Doherty has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year’s Women in Business awards.  Jackie is a finalist in the category of “Spotlight on women in Science, Technology, Engineering & Manufacturing (STEM)”.  This year’s spotlight award is for recognition of women who have achieved significant success through either science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics (STEM) in their industry, on an individual basis, or through their leadership of others. As a result of their performance they have positively impacted their organisations and been a role model for women entering into these sectors.

Celebrating 30 years with Monodraught

This year is Jackie’s 30th year in the business and Monodraught is her first and only company since she finished school. We want to celebrate this success and commitment to the business. The construction and mechanical engineering industry is a very male dominated sector.  Jackie is able to skilfully navigate it, building strong relationships with customers and staff.

Jackie is Commercial Manager for the Design and Modelling team. Her team has approximately 14 members, many of whom have Degrees, Masters or Doctorate’s in engineering. Her team take enquiries from large construction companies, mechanical engineering consultancies and architects.  Monodraught’s products are applied to these buildings through careful design and 3 dimensional dynamic thermal modelling.  Jackie and her department are responsible for commercially winning projects through strong negotiation techniques with Project engineers or Procurement Managers within construction companies.

Jackie always takes the lead in sales negotiations and retains customers’ goodwill even during difficult conversations.

Corporate Social Responsibility

In addition, last year Jackie started volunteering for Bucks Mind, our partner charity.  She offers her time in the befriending team. These hours are supported by Monodraught through a volunteer time-matching programme.

Monodraught offers flexible working to all staff including the opportunity to “bank” hours to leave earlier some days.  A significant number of staff work part-time with different arrangements to support caring and childcare requirements. 20% of staff are female, 35% have been with the company for 10+ years.

The awards take place on October 4th at the Oakley Hall in Hampshire and we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the finalists and wish them luck.
